The Gifts of Chance is a discussion of how change happens – sometimes social change, sometimes personal change. I want to move away from the idea that we are either passive or active. Instead I want to look at the role the unexpected plays in how we make changes.

The Gifts of Chance is inspired by this quote:

“the opposite of automatic writing is a dread-filled desire

to transform the gifts of chance into deliberate initiatives”

-Maurice Blanchot

I’m currently doing a PhD in Philosophy so much of it will probably be a bit abstract, but hopefully not too academic. Let me know if I’m straying too far into jargon land :) and I would appreciate any other comments you would like to leave.
